We live in a world where individuality isn't always celebrated but if you want to walk down the street dressed head to toe like Marilyn Monroe then hey you go find that platinum blonde wig.
Vintage in the 21st century may not be the norm and yet women (and men!) all around the world are still inspired by those beautiful high-waisted skirts, swing dresses, classic stilettos and THAT red lipstick. Not only is it the outfits that still catch our eye...there is something so cute about vintage typewriters, a classic frilled lampshade and those big over-sized armchairs where Granddad would smoke a pipe. We all love a vintage poster, whether its the alluring stare of Marilyn Monroe or the daring builders of Lunch a-top a Skyscraper we are all sure to have had at least one vintage photo pinned up on our walls.
It may be in 2015 but for many of us we are walking the streets of 1920s broadway with Mr Gatsby, in the powder room with Bette Davis making sure our lipstick is still on point, dancing with Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire or shopping with Grace Kelly for a new dress for this weeks social event.
Vintage is still around us and I love it. I've always said that I was born in the wrong era, I should have been a 1920s flapper.
The Vintage Years Scrapbook is a blog that celebrates all things vintage, past and present, so drop by whenever you want and check out where my vintage discovery takes me!
